This amazing team of instructors and choreographers work very hard to provide a well-rounded dance education to each and every student, no matter their age or experience level.

Vince-John "VJ" Frijas

Artistic Director, Director of Hip Hop

Combined with his love for the arts, obsession with music, and passion for teaching, VJ thrives to create an environment where his students can develop into the best dancers they can be. He started his dance career at a young age by imitating Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal." In high school, he joined a step/dance team called Crimson Haze and began submersing himself in the world of stage entertainment. VJ has trained with and under numerous people with immense talent. Joey Cooper, Bryan Tanaka (Rihanna, Beyonce, Destiny's Child, Mariah Carey), Heavy Impact's Greg Baja and Isaac Tualaulelei, Ivan Koumaev (NKOTB, SYTYCD), Ryan Chandler (Christina Aguilera), Daniel Cruz (Michael Jackson, Prince, 'NSYNC), John Roque, Yoshi Wright, and Aaron Gordon. He has also danced with a multitude of dance groups such as The Heat, De5inco, Team Boogiezone - Breed: Seattle, Cruz Control, Phyzikal Graffi-T, Twisted Elegance BoomKatzz, The Image Performing Company, BoomKatzz, Electriq, and 2010 World of Dance Champions: Kontagious Movement.Teaching is very important to him. VJ takes each class as a learning experience notonly for his students but as well as himself in order to become a better teacher. In turn, it only help deliver the best training for his students.


Lauren Sanford

Director of Jazz/Lyrical & Contemporary

Lauren grew up dancing at Dancers’ Workshop in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. She primarily studied ballet, pointe, modern and jazz and became a member of their Junior Repertory Company at age 11 and she studied and performed with the company for 7 years. With this company Lauren was given the opportunity to work and learn from many notable choreographers and companies including Elisa Monte, Richard Alston, Alonzo King's Lines Ballet, Thayne Jasperson (SYTYCD, Broadway's Newsies), Eldon Johnson (Odyssey Dance Theater), New York City Ballet, and Diavolo Dance Theater. Lauren entered the competition dance world as a high school varsity dance team member and performed, choreographed, and competed in jazz, lyrical, contemporary, and hip hop.  Post-grad, Lauren spent a year coaching this team, and her choreography in jazz, lyrical, contemporary and hip hop continues to place at regional and national levels. In 2007, Lauren relocated to Washington to pursue her degree in Science, Technology, and Society, at the University of Puget Sound. While in school, Lauren spent most of her time serving the University's Repertory Dance Group as an advanced choreographer, teacher, and the vice president. Throughout her time in Washington she has taught permanently and as a guest all over the Seattle/Tacoma area. As an Image Performing Company director, Lauren's choreography in jazz, lyrical, and contemporary has been recognized at regional and national levels.  Lauren's number one passion in life has always been dance, and she feels so blessed to be able to share it through her choreography and her students. She believes that as an instructor and choreographer it is her responsibility to train strong and confident dancers, artists, and people. 



Lorraine Constantine

Director of Ballet

Image Performing Company Instructor and Choreographer 

Born and raised in Tacoma, Lorraine has dedicated her life to the study, practice and performance of dance. She studied under the expertise of Tacoma City Ballet’s Artistic Director, Erin Ceragioli, where she learned the techniques of several schools of classical ballet and performed as a Senior Company member and Professional Division dancer for several years. Ms. Constantine has been accepted into several prestigious dance programs including Boston Ballet, Dominican University LINES BFA and Dance Theatre of Harlem on full scholarship. In 2009 she studied with Hubbard Street Dance Chicago during their summer intensive where she had the opportunity to work firsthand with the company. In July 2012, Ms. Constantine received a full scholarship to Donald Byrd’s Spectrum Dance Theater workshop where she too got to work firsthand with the director and the company members. Ms. Constantine has also studied with Kabby Mitchell III (PNB, DTH), Joel Myers (Spectrum Dance Theater) and Kate Monthy (Spectrum Dance Theater). She currently assists with MLKBallet, a non-profit, tuition-free ballet school in downtown Tacoma as well as visits Honduras each year to assist medical personnel as an interpreter. Ms. Constantine is working toward her bachelor’s at the University of Washington-Tacoma where she is studying Human Rights, Hispanic Studies and International Studies and guest dances and teaches around Western Washington.
